Vitamin E is an essential vitamin, meaning the body cannot produce it itself and it must be obtained from the diet. This vitamin is essential for the proper functioning of many systems, including reproduction, muscles, the nervous system, the cardiovascular system, and the immune system. Vitamin E must be obtained from the diet and is mainly found in fresh grass. Much vitamin E is lost during drying in hay or silage. For horses without pasture access, it is important they receive sufficient vitamin E through other means, such as a supplement.



There are various situations in which a horse needs extra vitamin E. When your horse’s basic ration contains insufficient vitamin E, it is important to supplement this deficiency. When we demand more from our horse, the horse also needs more vitamin E. If your horse is intensively trained, growing rapidly, used for breeding (broodmare or stallion), or has no access to fresh grass, it is important to provide your horse with extra vitamin E.



Vitamin E works closely with the mineral selenium. This mineral must also be obtained from the diet. Together they play a major role in protecting cells and cell structures. Vitamin E and selenium enhance each other’s effects. Their functions partly overlap, although each also has its own unique role. Precisely because Vitamin E and selenium strengthen each other, they are combined in the supplement Vitamin E + Selenium.

Instructions for use (feeding advice):

Work	Horse 500 kg	Per 100 kg body weight
Light	20 g / day	4 g / day
Medium	30 g / day	6 g / day
Heavy	40 g / day	8 g / day

One measuring scoop = approx. 20 g.



A 3 kg bucket is sufficient for approximately 150 days at a daily dose of 20 g.
